Meet Jamie B. Quynn
My Story
Hi, I’m Jamie B. Quynn, a German-American admissions consultant and SAT coach with experience working with students in the United States, South Korea, and Thailand. Beginning in 2027, I will continue my work from Málaga, Spain.
Building on more than 20 years of experience in higher education, I now help students strengthen their English, improve their SAT performance, develop authentic, compelling essays, and navigate the university application process with confidence.
After growing up in Germany and spending more than three decades building a career in higher education in the United States, I decided to take an unexpected step and move abroad.
I first lived and taught in South Korea before continuing my work in Thailand, where I helped international students prepare applications to universities in the United States and around the world. Working with students from different cultures taught me that although educational systems differ, students everywhere face many of the same challenges.
My Approach
I believe every student has a story worth telling. My role isn’t to write it for them. Instead, I help them discover it through thoughtful conversation and express it clearly during guided writing sessions. In my sessions, I strive to create a supportive, organized learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and become more confident in themselves and their abilities.
Sessions are organized, encouraging, and individualized, with clear goals and practical next steps. I want students to understand not just what to improve but how to improve it.
How I Help Students
I help students stay organized throughout the application process, including university selection, activity lists, application strategy, and supplemental requirements. Guidance is tailored to each student’s goals, timeline, and needs.
U.S. College Application Consulting
I support students through each step of the U.S. application process, helping them make thoughtful choices, meet requirements, and submit strong, well-prepared applications.
College Essay Coaching
I guide students through brainstorming, drafting, revising, and refining personal and supplemental essays. My goal is to help students develop essays that are clear, authentic, and genuinely reflect their own experiences and voice.
SAT English Coaching
I help students strengthen their reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and test-taking strategies to maximize their SAT Reading and Writing score.
IELTS and Academic English Support
I also work with students who want to strengthen their academic English or prepare for the IELTS exam, with individualized support in reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and test strategy.
An International Perspective
Having lived and worked in the United States, South Korea, Thailand, and Europe, I understand that applying to the U.S. universities from abroad can involve unfamiliar systems and expectations. I help students make that process clearer and more manageable.
